Film Futures
Computer Scientists and digital artists are behind the fabulous special effects we see in today's movies, but for a bit of fun we look at how movie plots could change if they involved Computer Scientists.
Lord of the Rings
In the computer science version of the film when Frodo gets the one Ring in the Shire a local hobbit Computer Scientist writes a program to calculate the trajectory for a small Hobbit missile to carry the Ring straight into the crater of Mount Doom in Mordor, saves on all that dangerous journey time and Orc unpleasantness.
