The mobile issue
There’s no reason to sit at a desk just to use a computer. We wear them, carry them in our pockets and drive around in them. Those handy little microchips mean our lives can be faster, easier, safer and more entertaining – but there’s more to mobile computing than just making things portable. Mobile computing brings you different ways to stay close to people or make yourself happy. Moving around can help you solve problems, and even see reality in new ways.
We’ll look at all of that in this issue. You’ll read about relationships, crime, driving fast and slowing down. Things as everyday as saving money and as weird as a culture where there aren’t any words for left and right. Stories that are about how people feel and how they live, because as soon as computing became mobile, it became about life.
